DBCTX is aware that several former board members have recently shared public statements regarding their resignations and their individual experiences with the organization.

We respect each person's right to share their own perspective and we wish them well in their continued involvement with the DeafBlind community.

We also recognize that seeing multiple leadership changes may naturally lead community members, volunteers, and supporters to have questions about what is happening within DBCTX.

We do not believe it would be appropriate or productive to publicly debate former board members or respond to individual statements point by point. Doing so could create more confusion rather than clarity, particularly when internal discussions and individual circumstances should not be shared publicly.

What we can say is that DBCTX remains focused on its mission and continues to serve the DeafBlind community.

We remain committed to providing opportunities for connection, recreation, education, advocacy, independence, and community. We are also committed to listening to constructive feedback and continuing to evaluate how DBCTX can improve its communication, accessibility, governance, and support for the people we serve and volunteers who make our programs possible.

We are grateful to the many volunteers, community members, families, staff, board members, and supporters who continue to contribute their time and energy.

We understand that people may have questions. We ask that those questions be directed to DBCTX rather than relying solely on social media discussions or assumptions about internal matters.

Our focus moving forward is simply to serve the DeafBlind community, support our volunteers, strengthen our organization, and continue building a DBCTX that our community can be proud of. If anyone has any questions please feel free to post your comment or question here.
